Summer on the Bow River

Here’s an impression of Calgary and the city’s river parks and Bow River Parkway found on both banks of the River Bow. The photo was taken from the northern shore, looking towards downtown Calgary with Peace Bridge, which I also showed in my previous photo, in the foreground.

The Bow River is a 587km-long river in Alberta, which flows through Calgary and later forms the South Saskatchewan River together with the Oldman River. As you can see, it was very popular with people in inflatable boats that sunny Sunday afternoon, I’ll probably show more of them later. Peace Bridge is a pedestrian and bicycle bridge , which was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and was completed in 2012.
