Blue butterfly Morpho is the real star of the Butterflies go free exhibition at Montreal Botanical Garden. At rest, its wings held together, it looks a bit ordinary (on left)... but as soon as it flies (see the 3 others), its azur blue wings capt every stares!You see pretty well why it is known as the "blue diamond" of the virgin forest.

Le morpho est un lépidoptère recherché par tous les entomologistes, la splendeur de ses couleurs y est pour beaucoup. Le specimen posé nous montre par ses ailes que sa jeunesse est déjà loin. Bravo, amicalement/jr

Very, very nice picture of butterflies Martine. I like the motion in the flying butterflies which makes a great contrast to the steady rocks. Well done.

This is so very special - this is so TE - this is so Scavenger Hunt #6! The sitting butterfly, the three in blurred flight - all nicely composed against the hard rock. Well spotted and - above all - well captured, Martine! I didn't believe my eyes - thanks!
