Photographer's Note
I walked past this lovely old mansion many times while I was living in neighbouring Notre-Dame-de-Grace. And I have to admit that I daydreamed as I passed. Such a house as this was made for dreaming, like the Dolls' House that I had as a child.
When you look at this, does it start you dreaming too?
Thanks for visiting and I look forward to your comments

Hello Silke. Particularly houses and churches are your speciality. The house in the photo, a small castle with oriels and columnsis, is really worth seeing. It lies somewhere between the dominating style epochs. A beautiful and well taken TrekEarth motive. Best regards and Happy new Year, Wolfgang.

Hi Silke,
Beautiful Victorian architecture of your beautiful doll house. Mansion is well centered and colors are superb with this perfect blue sky.
However only few dolls missing or are'nt they hidding behind the drapes?

Hi Silke,
Indeed its colours and architecture could easily be taken for a dolls house.I like all the angles and shapes created by the windows and balconies.A nice framing with the greenery and deep blue sky.A good exposure of the strong light on its facade.Seasons Greetings!

A wonderful house Silke, and the strong light has made the most of the colours.
I'm a bit undecided about the way you framed this, maybe shooting from face on would have worked even better.
Not that there's a problem with the way you did it, just an alternative.
You did well here, although it could do with a bit more sharpening.
Cheers,
Ben

Hello Silke,
An interesting piece of architecture indeed!
I agree with you, probably a nice place to live...
Your point of view is effective as it is not exactly frontal, well framed with good colours!

Hi Silke. You are getting some very good shots with your camera. The house here is a delightful sight. Colour and detail are good in this bright light and I find the level of sharpness to be quite acceptable. I'd probably have cloned out the tops of the fence posts at the bottom of the picture, and maybe even have straightened out the left side of the house. I think the photo being taken not quite face on does add a sense of depth to it, giving more shadows, and so does the branch at the top left. Yes, it does look like the type of house one might have dreamt of living in. I presume some lucky person or family does live in it.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Silke
Nice shot of this wonderful house. I thing that the area of NDG and Westmount are filled with those. You daydreamed as you passed by and I did when I saw your shot. Really, its a dream house but watch-out for the paint work !

Hi Silke,
Now that is a fine old home with sharp clear colors and a bit of a shadow working across its gracefully aging face. Your photo shows clear stunning details and I especially like the little tease of an old iron fence.
Regards, Tom
