Photographer's Note
This picture was shot in downtown Cuernavaca. To the right are the cathedral grounds. This church here is not the cathedral itself, but the much smaller Capilla del Carmen, where believers seek cures for illnesses.
---
CUERNAVACA is a rather affluent provincial city, a couple of hours south from Mexico City. There are a handful of interesting colonial buildings, including some of the oldest churches in America.
The city is steeped in conquistador history, but it's most interesting sight is probably the extravagant Casa Robert Brady, which houses an eclectic collection of art and artefacts in the original collector's house.
But for me Cuernavaca is - above all - where Malcolm Lowry wrote (his first version of) Under the Volcano.
"No se puede vivir sin amar - as that estupido wrote on my house!"

Dag Benny,
I am enjoying your Mexican churh series. In this one I like seeing the street life that is going on outside the church as well as the lovely little church itself. The tree on the left is framing the scene well and closes things in concentrating our attention in all the right spots.

Hi Benny,
A very picturesque scene, an amazing world there as I've said yesterday too. Interesting architecture, fine colors.
Well catch, have a great weekend.

Hello Benny ,
This is not the cathedral , but a very pretty church . Also , included in a superbly blanced composition . Like the crowded and colorful street in the FG .

Hi Benny
Great street scene, an insight to another culture and a nice slice of life. Lots to see here showing many things can be happening in one place. Really nice comp, color & clarity, love the way it invites me down that alleyway with lots of interest that also shows off the different architectural styles. You've captured the hustle and bustle and vibrancy of this alley. The guy in green is important to me who appears worried on one hand but drawing us in on the other. An interesting treatment of what seems to be an attractive street scene. A lovely shot and thks to your great effort.
Best regards

Hello Benny,
it's an excellently composed perspective shot :) even these two people in the bottom left corner are not disturbing and are, in a way, a nice addition to the balance of the composition.
I only wish the image were much larger - to see the details better!
best regards,
Elena

Hi Benny,
I'm enjoying your Cuernavaca series, and this may be my favorite. I love the bright splashes of colorful clothing against the sharply defined church. Very nice composition that invites careful examination of every detail in the photo.
Regards, Steve
