Photographer's Note

This is the park of Magdalena, seen from my hotel. I stopped here for the night, during a road trip to the Pacific coast.
The town already existed at the arrival of the Spaniards, as a village called Xochitepec. Now it has 16000 inhabitants and is a mining town. Its mines produce opal, kaolin and quartz, mainly.
It is located at 1350 meters above sea level, in the state of Jalisco, west of Mexico.
