Tulum, a photo from Quintana Roo, Southeast

Photographer's Note

Tulum is a Mayan city and port dating from around 600AD, and as many other cases related to mezzo-american civilizations, was abandoned (around 1400AD) without known reasons.

The archeological site may not have the bigger constructions that one finds in other Mayan centers (like Palenque, Chichen Itza or Tikal), but is very well maintained and offers the attraction of being by the Caribean sea.

In fact, Tulum is located in what tourism operators now call the “Mayan Riviera”. Anyway, I must admit that the white coral sand beaches and turqoise waters of the Caribean are among the best shores that I now.

There are two more views in the WS.

As a final note, I will be travelling during the next week, and then also away from TE.

one of my yoga teachers offers a week of class in maya tulum once a year ~
now that i have seen this lovely vista you have offered us, i think i should look into that opportunity :)

This sweeping sea view looks so luminous and the wonderfully polarised blue sky make this one a breath taking image along with turquoise water and the contrasty white sand. A decent enough compo, view point and the touch of moving boat is lovely addition. Well done and congrats.

La temperatura del agua en esta región es muy de mi agrado..... aqui en Australia tenemos las mejores playas pero el agua es mucho mas fría.
