Before entering the park at Tulum you are entertained by the descendants of the cities founders. Five men climb a pole that is approx. 100 ft in the air. They are garbed in ancient attire. They then strap one leg to a rope that is teathered to the platform at the top. They let themselves hang while the platform spins. One man stays atop the platform and beats a small drum.
