Georg-Büchner-Plazza in Darmstadt with the St Ludwig Church in the backgound

The plazza was rebuilt in 2010. The place has a threefold division: In the middle there is a terraced area with strips of grass, where visitors can sit on. This staged area is available for outdoor events. The center is flanked by two tree rows. At the southeast end are playground with sandboxes for young children. The children's play opportunities are integrated into the area of tree groves.

The entire facility is equipped with seating and litter bins. The area is highly geometrically structured, open and transparent.

originelle und interessante, moderne Architektur... Sind die Pilze als Regenschutz gedacht?
Der "diskrete Einschluss" einiger weniger Personen trägt zum Eindruck einer entspannten, ruhigen Atmosphäre bei.

Hi Achim,

The distance between the lawn and the building is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the St-Ludwig church. The late afternoon light is bringing out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

A composition very well balalnced with the large - and very graphic FG - which learn the glance to the St Ludwig church. This church is well off-centre on the left of the imge. The superb big cloud nad the trees give a natural framing to the church.

This is a great shot of this fine church and it's grounds. The repeating pattern created by the umbrella shaped structures leads the eye through the shot nicely. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

This is a great photograph of rather a bizarre location - it looks like the winning entry from a 1960s television contest to design a 21st century plaza: the whole architecture is almost a post-modern ironic comment on pos-modern ironic architecture. Technically an excellent shot, by the way: good DoF, a great PoV and good colour management. Well done, Iain.

etwas futuristisch mit übersichtlichen geometrischen Strukturen (sogar die leeren Flaschen stehen parallel mit der Hauptachse). Die starke Belichtung verstärkt den eher kalten aber interessanten Effekt.

Hard to believe (at least in my in experienced eyes) that the BG building with a large dome is a church! Fine graphic effect created by the green grass lines in the FG, diagonal to the frame!
