View of mountain near village Juta. From village you walk about 45 minutes to get to the bottom of Chaukhi mountains in Kazbegi National Park.

Kazbegi National Park is located on the northern slopes of Main Caucasus range, in the basin of the Tergi River in the Kazbegi district (gorge); with a total area of 9 030 hectares. All of the Kazbegi National Park is mountainous. Its lowest part is located at 1400 m above sea level and the upper one is within 3000 – 4100 m. Establishing of Kazbegi National Park serves the purpose of protection of the high mountain ecosystems.

The Strict Nature Reserve is the best environment for birds of prey. Namely, here can be found the Golden eagle, griffon vulture, Bearded vulture, et al. Attention draws the Caucasian Black grouse (Tetrao mlokosiewiczi) and Caucasian Snowcock (Tetraogallus caucasicus) as well.

The local people call themselves the Mokheves (habitants of the gorge). Like the Tushetians and partially, like the Khevsurs, the independent highlanders lived beyond the Caucasian watershed range for centuries and protected Georgia from the northern side.

The Mokheves have not forgotten their old traditions and habits like to highlanders of other mountain regions of Georgia and keep them even today, but unlike the rest of the mountain regions, due to the military road, the capital occurred here very fast just in the nineteenth century.

Hello Piotr,
There are lots of fine diagonals in this photo too, and also beautiful colours. I like the contrasts between the nearest yellow hillside with some haystacks here and there, and the dense dark green forest behind it. In the distance there are mountains that would challenge experienced hikers. There is a beautiful warm light in this well composed photo.

This is a great shot of this amazing landscape. I like a lot how this triangle of dark forest devides the fore- and background. Good warm light and a perfect exposure.

Hello Piotr,
I really like the many different brownish and orange shades in the photo. Also the contrast between the trees on the slopes at left, the shapes of the mountains in the distance and the smoother slopes in the foreground is wonderful. All captured in a bright sunlight, too.

Surprisingly some of these hills are intended for agriculture.
Beautiful contrast between the slope in the foreground, the heavily wooded slope in the middle and the bare mountain walls in the background.

czesc Piotrze, Sliczne te jesienne widoki w parku narodowym Kabeku. Juz przedtem pokazywałeś stamtąd troche zdjęć. Takie bezleśnie i nie skaliste góry przypominaja mi nasze Bieszczady. Tam w oddali wygladają juz troche groźnie. Miła chmurka.

W telewizorzee świąteczne reklamy, a zgodnie z nowymi obostrzeniami w imprezach domowych mogłoby brać udział do pięciu osób. Limit ten nie dotyczyłby osób, które wspólnie mieszkają. To ile osób będzie mozna zaprosić? Będzie kazdy u siebie jak na wielkanoc?

Another fantastic view of these steep mountain slopes with brown toned dry looking grass. Views on different distances give strong perspective. It seems that someone has been making hay, judging by those cones.
