Castle of Moura, a photo from Beja, South

Photographer's Note

Searching the gallery, I've noticed that there are not many photos of Moura, a small town in the Alentejo. It's a pitty because this region has a lot to be seen. This is part of the Castle of Moura. This castle has been built in the 11th century, during the Arab occupation. In the 14th century it was rebuilt by the Christians but keeping a great part of what existed already. This is an old tower we can find there. Works have been done lately and the space is now really worth to be visited.

Ana,
Your composition is fine placing the tower of the ruins to one side. The bird with nest on top is a great addition to the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

Olá Anabela,
it seems to be the best POV for that nice little castle and the view against the blue sky giving wonderful contrast to the great wall texture is superb. The stork is a nice add-on.

Olá Anabela,
que arquitetura bonita!!! Apesar de rústica e envelhecida, este tema merecia ser melhor explorado com seus "cliques".
Gostei muito da textura das paredes do lugar, da vegetação que circunda o Castelo e para concluir com rigor, a "cegonha" - acho que seja! - em seu ninho na torre.

Very good photo, nice bright colours and the stork on the top of the tower is the crowning of the composition. You are right, this ruin is worth more pictures.

Hello Ana, the thing I liked most in this typical Alentejan photo, is the lovely white cork which is sitting on the nest and looking around with curiosty. This region is really a heaven for them. Nice photo with good contrasting colours. Regards, Tolga

aqui podemos ver claramento os acréscimos que as gerações fizeram ao edifício original. gostei muito do pov e do enquadramento desta foto, a cegonha é o apanha-olho aqui. belo trabalho

Olá Ana,
Apesar do mau estado em que se encontra, a torre ainda impressiona e proporcionou uma bela foto. Como é teu hábito, o enquadramento, a nitidez, luz e cores estão estupendas. As nuvens ajudam a compo e a cegonha fica a matar. Tens razão quanto à fraca representação de Moura aqui no TE, tens que continuar a corrigir isso. :-)

Excelente esta perspectiva do castelo, as cores estão perfeitas tal como a definição da imagem.
Aquele amarelo "gasto" da parede contrasta muito bem com o restante cenário e a cegonha no nino dá 1 toque especial.

The final tower is distinguished clearly from the remainder of construction. The photograph is well tallied and the castle is detached on a sky which flatters it. with the green foreground, there is a beautiful harmony of colors. Cheer.

Ana, I love the stork at the top of the tower. The elements have taken their toll on this castle over the last 10 centuries and her the stork just finds it a place to make his home. Fine color and detail on this one and the hard shadows are great.

Good picture of the ruined castle rising above the green grass. Well framed with the tower off-centre. I was instantly drawn to the stork & it's nest high up. Fine contrast in very good light to create this picture. Good work!

I am very fond of medieval erchitecture (I am not an expert, just an enthusiast!) and often TE gives to me tyhe occasion to see famous and less famous ancient spots. Thanks for posting, Dario.

PS From a photographic point of view the noticeable characteristic of your picture is the asymmetrical composition, well counter balanced by the far clouds.

The tower is an eye-catcher and I can't help notice the bird that found this a safe place for the nest...

This is a very well composed shot. Great idea to place the tower to a side so more of the sky could be captured. The tower is so old, yet the grass is so well maintained. Goes to show how time has changed this place.
