Photographer's Note

I've entitled this photo No Tantrums for 2 reasons.

The first reason is that it could possibly get deleted for being in breach of the TE Rules. If it does, fair play, there will be no tantrums when and if it does. I must say in my defence though, that the technique I used here was to shoot from the hip and tried to use a bit of motion blur to mimic the fantastic results that Simplyoga gets from his Lensbaby Optic lens.

The second reason is that I would like to say how very sick I am of hearing from a vocal minority:

1. That they are leaving TE because they had a photo deleted or someone else's photo that they liked, was deleted. For Godsake grow up. You are carrying on like a bunch of divas. This is meant to be a fun website, you are taking yourselves way too seriously. Life is too short but rules are here for a reason and we all agreed to them when we subscribed;
2. Use the Forum and their critiquing to spread racial slurs and vitriol against other TE members and in particular against the Moderators;
3. Tell us how good TE used to be and what hopeless photographers those that are left here are;
4. Tell us how those of us "lesser gifted" (direct quote) photographers that remain don't warrant their critiques, firstly because we're no good and secondly because all we do is backslap one another in the hunt for Green Smiles.

I've sat back silently for a while and listened to this rubbish and I'm sick of seeing our TE hi-jacked by these egotists.

There's no doubt that TE needs to change with the times and improve. Everything in life must. But not once have I ever heard a positive suggestion from these people.

When I finally decided to speak out against one particular offender this week, I was called "stupid", "uneducated", a child, "vile" and I think at one stage "unspeakable".

My suggestion is, why don't we have a calm, sensible, and above all positive discussion about what can be done to improve the site?

The Photo

Shot from the hip in Newtown, an inner Western suburb of Sydney. King Street is the main street, it is full of uni students, bohemians, nutters and people just wanting a good feed or drink at the many great pubs and restaurants in the area.
