Photographer's Note
The old city of Jerusalem: a view from the city of David (Ir David) toward Siluan Valley. Note that the buildings in Siluan Valleu are built over a cliff with Jewish burial caves from about 2000 year ago. This can be seen on the lower left corner above the pile of debris - there are several square entrance holes in the cliff for entering the caves. Many of the buildings are hidding the caves within them and using them as storage rooms and cellars. The valley at the bottom part of the picture is "gay ben hinom" - the valley of ben hinum.
The area in the picture was a cemetary of rich people who could afford to be buried in the caves opposite of the city of david.

Hi Danny,
this a really great shot of Jerusalem.
Really great.
The POV is very good, the colours are nice, the compostion is very interesting and you can see many details as well, althogh the sharpness could be better, in my opinion.
Altogether this shot is great. Good work.
If you want have a look at my shots of Munich, from the same height.
Were you standing on a hill (thanks for climbing) or were you flyinf on a plane when you made this photo? Just interested.
Anyway,
Thanks for sharing and have a lovely Christmas time:D
Yours,
Eugen

Very nice point of view of theses houses attached to the side of the hill. I just regret a bit that the buildings themselves are not more intersting, probably a bit to modernized in my opinion.
All the best,
Emmanuel
