A Greek port in Florida ?
In the 1880s many Greeks people came to this Tarpon Springs harbor to fish sponges, plentyful in the waters of this Florida coast. An activity which greatly diminished around 1945 after the appearance of red algae and also with the competition of synthetic sponges !
Now, this Greek atmosphere has become a tourist attraction for this port of Tarpon Springs.
