Photographer's Note
Water Tower, Chicago, IL.
The Water Tower (the castle-like building, top) is the only structure that survived the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. The fire destroyed about 17450 buildings, but the Chicagoans quickly started to rebuild the city.
Constructed in 1869 using big limestone blocks, the Chicago Water Tower, with all its small towers in a 'gothic style', resembles more a tiny European 13th century castle than a water tower. It provides a strong contrast with the surrounding high-rises. Since its survival of the Great Fire, the Chicago Water Tower became one of Chicago's main symbols. The tower now houses a tourist information center while the accompanying pumping station across the street still pumps water for the city and is the home of Friend's David Schwimmer's Lookinglass Theater.
Note added later: I didn't realize that I caught a piece of myself in the upper right hand corner. So it's a self-portrait too!

So now we know what a really wide angle lens will do on a digital camera with a 1.5 cropping factor... Very impressive Ken, and great use of that lens. Few would take a lens like this and look up. You did and found this distinctive composition. Your camera didn't disappoint either since the details are remarkably good for a jpeg jammed with so much information. The sky is a bit of noisy but then this is an urban scene so perhaps it is unfair to expect a crystalline black sky surrounding the moon. Excellent work you've given us. Thank you.

Special angle for a special picture. Trying to have the moon, and the building is never easy due to the light of the moon.
Well done Ken
