Photographer's Note
Intersections V, Chicago, IL
A section of Chicago's historic N. Michigan Boulevard which mixes different styles of architecture. All the buildings in this stretch have been given landmark status.
As you can see, some occupants added a little bit of whimsy which I thought is appropriate for today's holiday cheers.
Tech: had to do a lot of straightening (perspective tool) then did contrast masking.

Happy Easter to you Ken ! very nice picture, well done !
le cadrage est parfait, Les lignes horizontales et verticales bien droites, le bleu du ciel en reflection dans les fenêtres ajoute à la qualité de cette belle création. De plus le " yellow smilling" est bienvenue en cette journée de Pâques. Congratulations !

I really like the difference in building styles and their unique shapes. The reflection of the sky on the mirrored building brings in a bit of nature. Details come through nicely, and the happy face just gives it the extra addtition to make this photo special.
Happy Easter

Where's the Easter Egg? :-) Wonderfully graphic shot and the use of intersecting lines makes for an original composition. The reflections in the windows work well to add another creative touch to go along with the smiley in one of the apartments. Well done.

This is a great one Ken! Using that never ending wall as background for the older houses. Almost the same colors on all houses but nice differences in shapes.

Excellent architecture shot. The mix of styles is very well rendered here. The reflecting sky in the background building is a plus. The prespective is also very well corrected. Congratulations Ken!

It's more than just an architecture photo, for me.
It's an incredible beautiful mix of buildings, lines and reflections perfectly assembled to do a purely graphical image.
Also the work to make the horizontals and verticals right is impressive and very successful.
And the touch of humour with the smiley is welcome here.
Great shot, I really like it, congratulations Ken !

Very very effective geometric shot Ken. Your straightening is perfect. The smiley in the window is a bonus (whimsical as you say) but I think you deserve two for this, so here you are...

Très belle composition ! J'apprécie tout particulièrement les reflets du ciel dans l'immeuble du fond.

Why is this happy Easter? I watch somewhat carefully, yes smiley is just smiling at the window. Great diagonal composition!

I like this shot a lot Ken. It's very interesting how all of these buildings appear to have been built during different decades (era's?), but all fit very well together. Smiley a bonus extra!
