Photographer's Note

During the St. Patrick's Day celebration in Chicago, the Chicago River is dyed green. They've been doing this for the past forty odd years. The dye is supposed to be vegetable dye and is harmless and biodegradable. This year, the greening of the Chicago River happened yesterday, March 17 after which the St. Patrick's Day parade, one of the largest in the world was held in downtown Chicago.
