Photographer's Note
Since it was a nice day today I decided to go downtown to play with the digital camera. I decided to photograph some of the buildings of the architect Minoru Yamasaki.
This is the main lounge of the McGregor Memorial Conference Center on the campus of Wayne State University. Built in 1958, the conference center is a 2 story building with conference rooms around a glass covered reception area. The building is clad in marble, glass and with teak doors Its inspiration draws from wide sources ranging from gothic cathedrals to Japanese sand gardens.
Minoru Yamasaki was based in Detroit and is best known for the World Trade Center and his delicate, gothic-inspired, international style buildings.

The shadows really gives depth to the architecture. The angular designs are evident almost everywhere in the photo. Very nice.

Dear Paul, very well chosen angle, good composition, how many diagonals do we have here ? Also nice play of shadow & sun. Good instructional note. Nice contrast of colour with the blue and white :) Great architecture shot.

A lot of dynamic, due to the repetition of light and shadow. Very well composed, perfect ballance.
Great job, Paul.

I also like the modern architecture when it rests on an innovative concept. I am not a passeist and I look with interest the new architectural designs. Paul, this photograph very is successful with these sets of shades and lights, and his daring geometrical forms.

This is a really interesting photo, but not very "serene" for me, as it is almost a trick on the eyes. The multiple geometric designs are great here, by structure and light. That black shape in the lower left seems to bother the rest of the composition, but not too much, and it's unavoidable. I'm still learning to appreciate architecture shots, and this is really nice to me.

Very nice pic, Paul. Quite a contrast with your previous postings. It's a very, very nice composition. Fascinating interplay between diagonals. straight lines and shadows. Great pic. I'll search the net for more informations on this building. I did a little workshop to straighten the vertical lines.

Great architecture. I like the angle of your shot. The blues, the zigzags and the shadows are all excellent. Well seen, Paul.

Great image, composition and colours are outstanding.
Shadow detail realy good.
One thing, are there some imperfections (in the concrete) of the 'triangular' structures, or reflections?

A unique perspective.
The two different moments in the image complete one another, when the union of the concrete triangles with the metal structure ad a very nice sense of movement to this photo.
The light is so great.
Very good work!
Congratulations.

Très bon jeu de lumières architecturales.
J'avoue que c'est difficile à composer et vous avez fait un bon travail.
Very good architectural lights. I acknowledge that it is difficult to compose and you did a good work.

Nice geometric patterns here which are really reinforced well by the lines of the shadows.
