Photographer's Note

These two MedEvac helicopters had just landed in the public field across the street from my house to wait for 2 children to be brought in ambulances from the scene of an accident. This is their usual landing place whenever there is need of them because it is one of the only flat, open spaces in the area that also has road access. The fire truck is there to provide flashing lights, which marks the landing spot for the choppers to see from the air. Over the years I have lived here, I have never seen two of them land at the same time, and it is unusual for them to arrive before the ambulance does. I heard that these came within 8 minutes of being called; the ambulances arrived shortly thereafter, but it was getting a bit too dark for photos by then. The children were 2 and 6 years old.

Adjusted levels and sharpened.
