Photographer's Note
Rockefeller center has transformed again for the summer. In past years there has been a full-service café, and picnic tables for casual dining, in the space where the ice skating rink sits during the winter months. Now, for the first time since a short season in 1940, the Rockefeller Center rink has turned into an old-school roller skating rink, complete with disco music. The rink is based on Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace, a legendary Los Angeles hotspot from the late 1970s to the early 1980s.
The roller skating space is a bit smaller than the ice skating rink, because there are tables around the perimeter, where you can sit and watch the skaters. I personally like how the sides of the rink on both the outside and inside are mirrors.
This shot was taken from inside the concourse, below street level. It’s just a casual view of people sitting next to the rink, with the famous, golden statue of Prometheus on the right.
In the WS are two other views. I considered all three photos for the main post. Obviously the quality of the WS photos worsened when I resized them. They looked a lot better with the original, higher resolution…

Ciao Brenda,Rockefeller Center offers a lot of things to show and I enjoy your post from different angles while keeping the golden Prometheus statue as a reference point. From ice skating to roller skating, to take advantage of the space on the esplanade in every season. The details are excellent despite your complaints about the loss of sharpness due to the reduction of the format for posting. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Brenda
When I visited the Rockefeller Centre I hadn't realised the winter use. It was all very quiet out front which I guess it wouldn't be for the roller skating. A good photo from inside.
cheers

Hello Brenda,
Yes, both WS could have done well as main posts, but the one you chose is the most original composition. There are some interesting distortions of the mirrored figures and I also like the window frames and the diagonal shadows.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Brenda,
Really nice and sunny view through the windows towards the courtyard of Rockefeller Center, which looks really inviting. The golden sculpture is nicely included at right as well.

Hello Brenda, Of course, I recognize here the golden statue and I suppose that in the background there is this laundry you show in another post. Nice view through the glass doors.
Best regards

Hello Brenda,
Oh yes, I walked along that rollerskating rink. In fact you were there a day before I was there. I went to the Turkish Consulate to renew my passport and wondered the streets after my official business.
This is an interesting capture from behind the windows. I like the frames within the frame and the shadows on the floor.
Regards,
MT

Hello Brenda,
I think you made the right choice for the main photo. As far as photo and composition are concerned. The two other photos nicely complement your series about the new destination of the well-known ice skating rink.
The two gentlemen in the WS remind me of businessmen who longed for a nice place outside to chat for a bit longer.
Best regards, Paul
