Photographer's Note
There are several skyscrapers next to Grand Central Terminal on 42nd Street, some are older and some are very new. This photo shows a combination of two of them.
Reflected is a view of the MetLife Building. It opened in 1963, has 59 floors, and a very recognizable exterior. It was originally called the Pan Am Building until 1993.
The building showing the reflection is the sleek, new One Vanderbilt office tower. It opened in 2020, and has 93 floors, including a multi-level observation deck. There is also a restaurant on the second floor, and some modern artwork on the lobby level. In this view you can see part of a set of reflective sculptures inside the lobby.
In the WS is a full view of One Vanderbilt.

Hello Brenda,
Fantastic reflection photo of this well-known building in Manhattan and the combination with that work of art and the interior of the other building is amazing. The artwork itself adds some fantastic reflections as well. Very well spotted!

Hello Brenda,
This is a brilliant combination of architecture, modern art and reflections. Above all it's the twisted sculpture that makes this such a fine photo with a strong touch of surrealism. My immediate thought was that this is the kind of photo that Rob (alvaraalto) would love, so I'm not surprised to see that his son favored it!
Kind regards,
Gert

Ciao Brenda, spectacular composition that combines the art of the new building marrying with the reflections of the nearby building that you show us in the WS with a useful classic view, you are always very original and brilliant in finding exciting angles and this is a new great example. Hello Brenda,
Very fine combination of reflections and interior view makes this into an artistic photo, well seen and rendered.

PS. Jim Thorpe is a hop and a skip away from NYC, there were many New Yorkers there on Memorial Day.

Hello Brenda, Fantastic composition with this mixture of the new and old architecture, artwork and reflection. I liked Grand Central and Metlife very much. The new addition looks nice too. One Vanderbilt's roof is 1,301 feet (397 m) high. As of 2021, the building is the 26th-tallest in the world. So high. Have you been up there?
Best regards MAlgo

Hello Brenda,
A difficult POV to take this picture, but the reflection outcome is pleasing.
I remember the Pan-AM building, now under a different name of a big corporation.
Try a whole take upon the sculpture with the building background, humbly suggested.
Have a nice new week,
Ike

Hello Brenda,
You have used artistry to portray this building. The building, with the addition of the reflected features, shown in window reflection, looks like a piece of modern art, far more interesting than the original, shown in your w/s.
Have a good week,
Bev :-)

Hi Brenda,
Quite wonderful view of that sculpture seen through a window and the reflection of a skyscraper. Transition between them is very subtle. And the reflective surface of the sculpture fits the theme.

Hello Brenda,
I confess that I had a bit of a hard time understanding your main photo.
The reflection of the new building is clear, but the beautiful artwork seems to be in the foreground at the bottom and then suddenly seems to become a reflection itself.
It seems to me to be a very special work of art. On closer inspection, you may perhaps also find reflections in it.
The One Vanderbilt office tower must have been a construction site during my visit to NYC.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Brenda,
NYC is a paradise for people who love modern architecture. There are so many possibilities there. This is an amazing composition with some strange shape making a very original and decorative foreground and of course interesting geometry thanks to the use of the reflection.
Excellent work,
M
