Photographer's Note
Another taken on my trip to Chinatown last weekend. A nice moment captured between father and son.

A great shot, Carolyn. So simple but so interesting. I like the boy's experssion and I can imagine the father's without seeing his face.
So much content.
I like the Giraff's colors down there.
Well seen.
(Congratulation for the new intro photo)

This is the type of shot I like from you Carolyn, simple moments of normal life. This is good, although perhaps not at the very high level of your best. I like how you have caught the father and son. While being together both seem to have their thoughts a long ways away from each other. I think the only thing letting this down is that we have "face time" with the son, yet it is the father who is the dominant figure in the image. I wish you could have caught a similar expression on the boy, but from an angle where he was taking up more of the frame than his father. I realize this would have been a tall order, but we can wish, can't we? Another good shot.

I find it interesting how the father and son seem to be not paying any attention to each other, yet they occupy the same space. This suggests comfort with each other, and the photo goes through the back door, as it were, to this intimacy, leaving a little "edge" as it does so.
