Taken at the Tampa zoo. These Bornean Orangutan's are part of the captive breeding program by accredited Zoos around North America. 9 babies have been born at the Tampa zoo in an effort to save these very endangered animals. If you ever get a chance to stop by when your in the Tampa area......do so. A wonderful zoo.

Hi Jimmy,fantastic portrait of this orangutan,i'm not a fan of zoos and to see animals in places like that,but sometimes are useful to protect some species like that,and the face expression seems to agree with my idea..ehhee..very nice close up very very sharp! A superb close-up portrait of this orangutan. The details are superb, his fur and the lines of his face are very well captured. He's got a quite sad look on his face.

I saw some wild Orangutans in Bukit Lawang, Sumatra years ago. At least here you did not have to worry about them peeing out of the trees above, lol! Effective tight framing and good highlights in the eyes. Tfs!

Excellent portrait pin-sharp focus in fine colours, dramatic viewpoint and subtle detail & textures - an exclusively Asian species of extant great ape native to Indonesia and Malaysia.

The terrific catch light in his eyes has added a zing point as most valuable element. Such a human expression...

what a beast, but a beautiful beast, so powerful. this is a very effective crop, its upfront and centre, in-our-face, thats a good thing. cool shot

Eu gosto muito de fotos de animais e essa ficou muito boa! Foi uma boa ideia preencher todo o quadro com o pelo ruivo do orangotango. A expressão séria dele deixa a foto ainda mais atraente. Cores bonitas e ótima luz.

I visited some terrible zoos and it is nice to heard this one is nice. amazing this animal portrait, quality is precious and expression, colors, light and textures couldn't be better. a masterpiece.
