Photographer's Note
Paria Canyon - Coyote Buttes South - Vermilion Cliffs
You need to get permit to visit this area, only limitted # of permit per day. You also need high clearance 4 wheel drive vehicle to get there, even than you may still get stuck in the sandy road. Therefore there are not too many people here.
See BLM web page for how to obtain a permit and do lot of research about the road condition before you attempt to go by yourself.

A place I would like to visit, sooner or later. One of the many...
The human presence is very important here to break the uniformity of the image.

Hello Way,
I have just made room in my favourites for this one. This looks like a river of sandstone. The flowing shapes are so beautiful and the man is perfectly positioned and gives a fabulous sense of scale. I like the fact that you did not include any sky so that the visual impact is high. First rate light and colour management, and sharpness.

The "waves", the orange color, and the presence of a human element giving a scale for the geological formations make this picture stand out of its predecessors.

Hello Way - The sinuous curves of the rocks are wonderful and I love the way you have positioned the shot to place the end of the FG "sweep" on the upper left - a powerful composition. The figure adds great scale and anchors the shot perfectly. What an amazing location. best regards Rosemary

Exceptional variations of the same colour, they seem to be made by a big brush. I guess how a man can feel himself very very little.

Wonderful composition I am fascinated by the textures and formations full of detail, light and form. An incredible view, you seem to find the best vantage points with the curvy textures in the FG gathers this view nicely leading line way to the thirds and beyond! An amazing formation and you've captured the colours, tones and textures very beautifully in great depth and sense of scale. Glorious nature wonders, well captured, Congrats.

Hello Way,
You always manage to find the most amazing places, most of which I had never before heard of. Nature has composed itself superbly, but you found a good POV and the inclusion of a person, at the right distance from the frame, adds the necessary life. For the rest, I'm just awe-struck by the shapes and colours.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Wayne.
Still love your photos. "The wave" and Coyote Butte is an amazing place, which I almost had the pleasure to see myself. You capture it beautifully. This POV gives a nice overlook, and for not including the sky, you are left with an even better composition. Thanks for sharing!
Best wishes,

Hi Way,
this is one of the places which I would REALLY love to visit some day. If I only get around Utah again I have to try to arrange a visit there.
Your photo well illustrates why I like it so much: you can simple get lost in there loosing the feeling of space completely, not knowing where is up and where down.
Spectacular shapes sculptured by nature also using amazing colors.
The presence of the person in the picture helps to get a feeling of the space and better appreciate its weirdness.
Excellent capture!!!

Very nice composition, with a framing that takes the eye to this man and the upper left corner of the image. The presence of this man as a scale adds to the monumentality of the place.
Technically excellent, as usual.
