Photographer's Note

…and a good dose of stupidity! :)

I know, I know…I’m an oversized child, but I wanted to have a little fun with this one playing with light and shadow. The WS pictures would suggest a more serious approach, but the longer I was here, the more I wanted to liven it up some.

This is a painted cinderblock wall along the main entry to the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway airport. I’ve driven by this location more times than I can count, even flown from here a handful…but it wasn’t until a few weeks ago that I saw it as a photo opportunity. I was expecting a security detail to come and question me as soon I started taking pictures, however, there was a bit of a delay.

You see, a few of the airport security officers were actually surveilling from a distance and having a great time watching me act like a fool while taking this shot. One of them finally stopped by to confirm my intentions and we both shared a good laugh as I explained just what I was doing.

As Lisa (delpeoples) used as a title and in her notes recently, “The things we do” for our photography.

Thanks for taking a look. Have a great week everyone!
