Photographer's Note

The Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Arizona, is literally minutes from the Utah-Arizona border. The dam provides hydroelectrcity to the small city of Page, as well as neighboring towns, and also stores water (from the Colorado River) for the Upper Colorado River Basin (Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico).

The result of the dam was Lake Powell, the second largest man-made reservoir in the United States (Lake Mead, created by the Hoover Dam, is the largest). This photograph is looking toward Lake Powell.
