Photographer's Note
When you look at the cormorants on the rock you can get a feel for how big this wave is. But as usual the birds are impurturbable, ignoring the crashing of the sea like we'd ignore soft breeze
this was taken with a long telephoto lens but the E-10 doesn't record the lens in EXIF so i'm not sure which one i used.

Hi Tom
I like your POV and compo. The white wave breaking there and the blue water and brown and grey rocks make this a very nice compo.

Indeed, this rock needs to be cleaned in looking at the white paint, or bird excrements, sprayed on it. Without joke, this moment is well fixed, with a strong power expressed in this wave. I thought in observing the small picture that it was in fact a big cloud. Colours and light are also nice.
Bye, Laurent.

Hello Tom,
Superbe instant, bien saisi. La netteté est très bonne et les oiseaux qui se découpent dans l'écume blanche sont très bien cadrés. Je trouve ton cadrage très réussi.
Bravo.

Hello Tom -
What a spectacular image! The birds really do give us some size reference. I am not sure the center composition is the best format - I think I would like to have seen a little bit more of the cresting wave on the right hand side. Moving the rock and birds to left third would have accomplished this. Either way, this is a grand photo with excellent exposure, depth and sharpness. Well Done!!

Hi Tom:
What a shot! This photo has sheer power and motion written all over it--I can almost hear the wave crashing against the rocks. Wonderful capture and great timing. Colors are great, especially the deep blue ocean, and the sharpness is excellent. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Tom,
This is just stunning!! lThe light, color and framing are all perfect; excellent detail in the cormorants does tell us the size of the wave. The waves weren't quite this big on my last trip through here.

WOW Tom! A giant hand reaching up out of the ocean to come and grab... Nice dark brown rocks in the f/g, the grey & white ones in the m/g, and then that white "hand" in the b/g
The blue in water and sky, and then that white!
Great compo, wonderful colours. Tfs, J.

What a powerful scene. The surf action is wonderful, especially as it is juxtaposed with the still rocks and more surprisingly the still birds. Loevely drama.

Tom, I've got to join the admirers for this one. I like it all -- the colors, the contrast, the birds on the rock, the mighty spume, the rocks in the foreground. As a native New Englander, I love the sea, too. Nicely seen, and a fine bit of composition. That mountain of white really is dramatic.

Superbe image,
ce rocher , surmonté de cormorans, sur fond d'écume...le tout admirablement mis en valeur par une bonne composition ( les rochers bruns, en bas à droite de la photo, auraient manqué...) et par une lumière très belle, est de toute beauté.
well done.
