Zen Gazing, a photo from Pennsylvania, Northeast

Photographer's Note

On a stormy day in my home town in Pennsylvania, I came out to shoot the Bryn Athyn Cathedral and Glencairn. The air was heavy with moisture, and the lighting kept dancing between dark and surreal as the sun peeked and hid among the storm clouds.

I came upon this girl sitting in a zen-like posture, cross legged, palms up, eyed closed - facing the west. I took several shots of her from various angles, trying not to disturb her energy. I do not think she noticed my presence.

I liked this shot of her best, even though she's no longer in the 'ohm' posture, she's finished with her meditation here and seeming to conclude her conversation with the universe. She's gazing across the lush valley to the left, directly toward where the sun was setting. She seems so at peace.

What a soft and tender capture depicting peacefulness!
The foreground is fantastic and the girl seems to be meditating facing a marrvellous landscape.
Beautiful lighting and focusing.
A pleasing composition.

I like the way you compose this view to show the garden colors at the FG and the woman facing away to the light. Very pleasant green.
