Shades of Sandstone, a photo from Utah, West

Photographer's Note

Up early in the morning in Zion Park looking up at the sandstone cliffs. I love how the side lighting opened up the details of this rock face here.

Sometimes at night you can hear this rocks fall onto the roadway, and this brings more work for the National Park road crew, to remove the rock debris and repair and repave as needed. The National Parks appear to have funds to keep the roadway in excellent condition, whereas outside the park's jurisdiction on the state highway I drove over this bump that felt like my jeep chassis would fall off. Interesting to say the least. Enjoy.

What an extravaganza of shapes, pattern and textures, fabulous is every aspect. Magnificently composed image and pin sharp. I am just awestruck by this picture, a hidden natural beauty with an abstract effect not many has the previlage to witness. Love particularly the textures, the shadows enhances the depth superbly and the different tones cast by the warm light source. A wonderul opportunity and so well taken! Amazing and thanks for sharing from the Wild West. Congrats

First time I saw a sandstone in Jordan Petra, I remember I was impressed with a structure of this stone. yes, lovely colours in the evening (or morning) low sunlights.
