Photographer's Note

The Nikon D90 was my first DSLR camera. Generally speaking, it’s a pretty good camera, specifically in bright daylight with a polarizing filter. Most my pictures were taken that way. My biggest complaint about this camera is its performance in low light condition, oftentimes a lot of noise. So poor, it’s a real pain. So I decided to upgrade to a full-frame camera. After extensive research, I found Canon 6D fits my need perfectly—mainly landscape shooting, excellent in image quality, most importantly, fabulous even in very high ISO setting.

Over the weekend, had a quick trip to Atlanta, Georgia. I put my new toy in a real test. Atlanta is located in southeast of U.S. It was a birthplace of Coca-Cola and Gone With The Wind. It is the headquarters of CNN. There are number of the attractions in Atlanta. Georgia Aquarium is my favorite. Since the aquarium opened in 2005, the world's largest aquarium has had tourists abuzz about its 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water, home to more than 100,000 animals representing 500 species from around the globe.

This picture is about starfishes and other colorful live sea creatures under the clear water (no glass on top). In order to got a perfect exposure, I had to raise ISO to 5,000 (yes 5,000, not 500). The result is very satisfied. The image is noise free even at extreme high ISO. I’m very happy with this little guy.
