Photographer's Note

I offer this shot to seek your thoughts on point-of-view and composition.
I'm happy with the pov. There is a nice ledge at Waddell Beach that allows you to view the beach from above.
But regarding the composition, I am still uncertain about whether I have cropped this too much. The original shot showed more of the sea and sand and sky, and while I hoped to convey the thought that "Nature is so big and the surfer is so small," I also did not want the human figure to get lost in the scene. So please tell me if you think I have struck the right compromise here -- showing the human sufficiently large to be noticed, but also conveying the massive size of Nature. Thanks you!

PS -- 23 Feb 2015... I have added as a workshop a compressed but uncropped copy of the original frame, to show the cropping decisions I made. I sincerely appreciate everyone's thoughts on this topic!
