Photographer's Note
There is a Meteor Crater thirty-five miles east of Flagstaff and about 8 miles south of Interstate Highway 40. Scientists say the impact occurred only about 50,000 years ago. It is measured at 4,000 feet wide and 700 feet deep.
It is amazing to ponder the immense and random powers of the Universe!

Hello Russ,
I hope that the crater is the real of a Meteor, but your picture is a little bit dark but a nice nature picture.
An excellent captured nice presentation, colours and composition are pleasant to look at.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,
John.

Howdy Russ,
Well, would you look here...you made it to the crater! :)
Wish I could have joined you, it's a place I've passed on the "40" many a time during earlier work years, and now regret never having stopped!? Hindsight really is 20/20, huh? lol
To the unsuspecting eye this wouldn't appear anything grandiose, but we certainly know better...and I think you've done a smart job in framing, helping to understand its sheer scale.
Glad you were able to make the visit. Hope all is going well with the new life. Keep in touch. All the very best from up North.
Cheers,
Jason

Howdy Russ,
Interesting view of Nature's awesome power, from the crater edge, looking into its heart, huge and impressive.
I remember as a kid our parents taking a side trip to Meteor Crater on our journey along Highway 66. It was not until years later, I would realize the immense powers going on here.
Well done,
Cheers,
Ray
