Photographer's Note
Last night at a bookstore in Bethesda, Maryland, a group of five actors, cast members of a soap opera on American television, were hosting a book signing event. Two of the actors were good friends from Hollywood, California, and we felt the moral obligation to be present... failing to anticipate that hundreds of others would also be there. This is just a snapshot with an iPhone, but it captures a common aspect of a contemporary phenomenon: smartphones have made photographers of us all. These people, addicted to daytime television, were just taking photos of their own family members. I could hear discourse around me about memories of earlier actors, the unfolding drama in the show, and predictions about future drama.
I count nine smartphones, plus my own. This may be a good candidate for the group theme, Mobile Phones.
PS Following Brenda Elaine's advice, in accompanying ws, I cropped the image a little tighter. There are eight smartphone are visible, instead of nine.

Bonsoir, cher ami Bulent,
Le smartphone possède des qualités intrinsèques manifestes. Quant à son utilisation, l'on peut se poser des questions !
Bravo pour cette composition emplie d'originalité.
Bonne note d'accompagnement également.

Hello Bulent,
I'm guessing this was the book signing for Days of Our Lives, am I correct? My mom and sister are long-time fans. :-) There was recently a signing here in NYC, but they weren't able to attend. As we all know, it's hard to get clear photos at events like this, with everyone raising their phones, and sometimes even their tablets! Your photo clearly shows the challenge. There are a lot of arms and heads in the frame, which illustrates your point, but I still might have cropped the person on the far right. By the way, which of the actors do you know?
Enjoy your evening,
Brenda

Hi dear Bulent
Yes exactly, youw are quite right. These handphones are so serious difficulty in shotting in festival, sport games and so on. Frankly I want to make new rule to abolish these conducts. Anyway quite timely and nice reporting posting.
All the best and have a good day! Takero

Hello Bulent,
looks as most people did not miss an opportunity to take photos of 5 celeb's.
Can only imagine the tumult went on there.
Nice snapshot.

Hello Bulent,
There is no doubt smartphones have changed the world we live in forever. Whether that is entirely a good thing is debatable, but not much more to do now the genie is out of the bottle. Your photo shows one aspect of their use very well indeed. I like the animation and the evident sense of excitement.

Yes, what does one iphone matter? Composition is all. I must say I find it hard to use mobile phone cameras, but there are times when their use is almost mandatory - such as when photographing others doing the same thing as you. It's interesting to ponder the new-found interest in such action sports as book signing. In this age, the Age of Distraction surely, everything gets photographed, especially when one's family or friends, or even oneself, is in the scene. There's a painting of someone reading a book at the top of the picture, or perhaps even signing one, and the names of great writers too. But I imagine not one of the people lunging forward with their phones, with the probable exception of you, is interested in literature; it's an 'event'.
Regards,
Andrew

Hello Bulent,
As I can see, your camera is always ready for excellent snapshot.
I like how you have captured the photographers using their mobile phone cameras.
The colorful screens add some more color contrast to this interesting photo.
Nicely done.
Greetings
Miro
