Photographer's Note
I have often heard that the Elephant is a very intelligent animal. This image helped to confirm this. The tear coming from the eye just made me wonder on the devastation man has brought unto the wildlife of this planet. I believe all life serves a purpose. Greed for tusks, fur, and trophies is not one of them. The tear could just be a tear for no other reason but an irritation. Still it makes me think and ponder as I looked into this beautiful animals eye.
good day

Hello Jimmy,
We won't know what caused this tear, but the idea that an elephant in captivity can feel sorrow and sadness is certainly food for thought. (It probably can, but will it weep?) Even apart from that haunting idea this is a great photo of incredible sharpness and exposure. The texture and wrinkles of that skin are fascinating to watch.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Jimmy,
A great capture of the eye of the elephant and the many details of its skin around it. Every single detail of the smaller and larger patterns is clearly visible. Very well done.

Hi dear Jimmy
Unfortunately I cannot identofy the teadrops in this elephant, but he or she clearly seems to be so sad. Yes elephat is so clever animal so he or she is thinking someting so seriously. Nice close-up and ideal appealing shot with so much implications.
All the best and have a good day! Takero

Hi Jimmy
You'll be pleased to know that Australian customs seize all ivory products from arriving passengers coming from Asia and Africa. But a much bigger threat is the Chinese penchant for medicinal herbs made from powdered ivory. Wonderful texture here with good sharpness and tight framing. Tfs!

Hello Jimmy, Sad picture. Is this elephant crying? The humans brought really devastation unto wildlife everywhere, by stupidity and greed. Marvelous close-up. Fantastic picture. Was it in the zoo?
Kind regards MAlgo

Hi Jimmy,
Close view shows all the wrinkles perfectly. Slight colour variations between brown and grey are splendidly presentred on this light. Tear is just a tiny detail here but on making your point of note, it works well. Even though the elephant probably thought about something else.

Hi Jimmy
Triste image de voir l'éléphant en larmes, en captivité dû a la cruauté des hommes…..je maudit ces personnes……...

jimmy
amazing close up. I liked the idea, simple, but not used frequently while most of people tends to photograph the whole animal or its head. nice textures, light and details. yes, mankind did lots of damages to nature. I hope we will save it too.
take care

Hola Jimmy.
