Photographer's Note
Well, I said I would post one more shot of the 45 foot tall Ballerina in New York - so here she is.
Like many of you have already commented, yes, its a bit kitschy, but it still looks great in a photo.
Using the Very tall Rockefeller sky scraper in the bg, the Ballerina still looks small to me. But trust me, in person she's...well - huge!
Perhaps on second thought it would have been best to have a person standing close by for scale, but reviewing all of my shots, I don't have one.
Anyways, I hope it holds your interest. In the WS are two more views. thanks for looking.

Hi Craig,3 new pics dedicated to this unique and lovely artwork, but there is a lot of art inside your main pic,the perspective is amazing! It's an original way to show the Rockfeller building! 2 useful and classic WS to understand better too. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Craig,
The highrise buildings are framing well the sculpture. The point of view is showing the details of the Ballerina sculpture. It is clear and sharp. Have a nice dya.

Hi Craig
A good upward pov on the giant ballerina sculpture. She looks like Alice in Wonderland a bit after she has taken one of her size enhancement bites of a mushroom! The tricky lighting has been well managed. Tfs!

An imposing upwards view of the inflated sculpture and the tall building above, Craig.
Used fairly well the strong light from above and gained contrasting tones from the surrounding area on street level.
Have a nice new day - or rather good night in BC.

Hello Craig,
Only after seeing the Workshop, I understand how huge it is and where it sits. An excellent subject for photos. Stunning composition.

Hello Craig,
After seeing your photo in the WS, I know for sure this Ballerina wasn't there anymore last year when I visited NYC.
It's really very huge.
Still a bit strange to find a fairytale character in that environment who feels quite 'businesslike'.
Splendid view upwards!
Best regards, Paul

Hello Craig,
The main post is the best of the three pictures, with an excellent an impressive perspective.
Well done;

Hello Craig,
From this low angle, and with this background, the ballerina looks even stranger than in your last photo. "What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?" She may not look vulnerable, even though the buildings are so much taller than her, but she really looks lost in this cold, dark grey environment. In the last photo she had the company of trees and flags, which created a rather cosy atmosphere. This is anything but cosy, but it's interesting to see how the shooting angle can make such a difference to the impact of a photo.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hi Craig
Most impressive shooting angle and a wonderfully dynamic image with that perfectly placed dummy, all combine to surprise and delight. Beautifully and imaginatively taken. Well done

Hello Craig,
Three further ballerina photographs, which I really enjoyed.
I take your point about adding a figure, for scale, but I'm so glad that you didn't. This has a wonderful, dreamlike quality, or maybe a fairy story, but a real person would have broken that spell.
In your main photograph, we seem to be spying (not malevolently) as she prepares to silently dance on the streets of N.Y!
In the w/s the attention is very much about her outdoing the skyscrapers for scale!
There is an advert on TV, for Amazon, which suggests that the show must go on and a ballerina dances through the streets, because her show has been cancelled because of Covid! Your photographs bring that to mind!
Thanks for these and keep safe,
Bev :-)

Hello Craig,
I find this better than you previous picture, with this statue
With a vertical perspective of the skyscrapers
Pleasant image with soft colours and details.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,

Hello Craig, three more informative pictures that emphasise the size of the ballerina set against the enormous skyscrapers.
I can imagine how much fun you had creating all these different points of view.
I am glad that there are no 'real' people in the shots; they could have been distracting I think.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Craig,
Yes, she's a big girl, but she doesnt look quite as tall next to the very tall 30 Rock. :-) Nice POV; the ballerina seems to be thinking about something as she reaches down towards her slipper. I hope you're doing well. Take care!

Hi Craig,
This has to be the best possible angle. Showing the Rockefeller building reaching towards the sky in the background gives great perspective. It would be impossible to guess the size of the ballerina. But we know that already. Something so ultramodern makes good contrast with simple design concrete buildings.

Hello Craig,
Yeah, the ballerina is a bit kitschy indeed, something Jeff Koons could have come up with as well, I guess. I really like the upward POV with the towers of Rockefeller Center reaching up into the partly cloudy sky.

Hi Craig
I did take photos around that area in NY but not of her. By looking upwards you made good use of her and even manage to keep her reasonably in focus.
cheers

I remember your initial post with this fascinating work of art and I'm glad you posted more. But I must admit, I like all 3 photos you uploaded here and I would have a huge problem trying to choose which one should be the main upload. As huge as the Ballerina herself. ;-)
Have a nice week.

Hello Craig, how are you. Hope everything is fine and I wish a nice new year.
I love the both photos that and the other one. But this one is amazing from this point of view. It seems the Ballerina is a giant doll like the skycrapers.
Well done!
Andre
