Photographer's Note
This is a scan of a photo I took circa 1995.
Twenty years have passed. So many horrors took place on that day. I hoped that the world would be a better place two decades later, but these are difficult times.
I still hope for peace, for health, for more kindness in this world and less hate.
Take care everyone...

Hello Brenda,
A great photo of the World Trade Center, I can remember that horrible day back in 2001 still really clearly. You show the twin towers so well here, the darker building at right adds a nice contrast as well.

Hello Brenda,
I remember you told me how you experienced that day and the difficulties you had getting back home.
Our news broadcast this evening also looked back at the events of exactly twenty years ago.
But for a New Yorker, it must have all been really terrible. Not only that day, but also the days and weeks following.
Our news report ended with the statement that the terrorists did not defeat NYC. On the contrary. I experienced the latter during my visit in 2019.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Brenda,we have seen hundreds of scanned photos on this site, but I have no difficulty in saying that this one comes first in importance and significance. Your short notes are enough to describe what we want and think, a big thank you for this post full of hope, and a tribute to all the fallen of this and other misfortunes. Have a nice evening! Luciano

Dobar rad, lepa dokument fotografija.
Proslo je dvadseset godina, fotografija budi secanje kada su sruseni.
Zelim vam lepu i mirnu noc, sve najbolje.

Hello Brenda,
Unbelieveable how 20 years past since, an era that came to an end - started a whole different approach to world terror awareness. I clearly remember where I was when the horror came to the screens.
Have a nice new day, better memories,
Ike

Hello Brenda,
I wasn't physically close to here on that terrible day 20 years ago, but I was mentally dragged into the chaos after being called into my office on one of my days off and asked to write wrap-ups of the news reports spreading in all directions. It was hard to grasp what was going on. Nobody had experienced anything like this before. This photo is timely posted to remind us of how those attacks and their aftermaths are still plaguing the world after so many years.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Brenda,
This is heart wrenching!
Who does not remember where they were and what they were doing when the the report of this atrocity was emotionally broadcast!
For NY citizens this must have been the worst nightmare!
It would be such a blessing to note that international relationships have substantially improved since then - I wish!
Thank you for this,
Bev :-)

Hello Brenda,
I still remember that fateful day. So many lives lost and missing.
Despite all that has happened, it's the New Yorkers who make this city 'Strong' and 'Resilient'.
A very well written note, Brenda.
We should show a little bit of love and kindness to the world. No wars and hungers.
Twenty years have passed ... still, we will never forget.
Thank you. Take care yourself too.

Hi Brenda,
Not the best technical quality, but a poignant photo nonetheless. The photo has great historical value as these two gigantic buildings are no longer there; it brings back memories of a tragic day that had reverberations around the world. Is the world a better place now? Hard to say. In the last two days more people have died from Covid in the USA than died on 9/11. An on-going tragedy of a different kind.

Hello Brenda,
A pity but in world are always people present that love of war more than peace.
9/11 remain for my life in my memory, a horror day
Perfect captured and nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

John.

Hello Brenda, this picture needs no words, everyone recognises the twin towers.
We have had documentaries on TV this week, and the pictures are still horrific.
Thank you for sharing this shot. We will remember all those who died on that day, and the brave people who helped.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Breanda,
I wore yesterday my T-shirt which I bought in NYC with big letters New York....
Sadly I never had a chance to see the WTC. I have been to NY only once and it was 2003. I spent in the US 2.5 years but on the west coast so the trip to the east coast was quite expensive to me. When I visited there was that cross there among ruins, which I remember was annoying for my Jewish boss. There was still a lot of police with mashine guns around and may tourist attractions were still closed like the top of the Statue of Liberty.
These photos have now such an incredible historical value.
And the recent developments in Afghanistan nearly at the 20 year anniversary are so sad to watch.
This photo is a great way to commemorate that dramatic time.

Hello Brenda,
An apt upload for 9/11. It's always saddening to see faded posters of these iconic NYC buildings in bars and restaurants around the world. Such an abomination. Tfs!
