Photographer's Note

This is the view between Ketchikan on Revillagigedo Island (R)and Gravina Island (L). This area is known as Southeast, a 200 + mile strip of mostly islands off the coast of British Columbia.

There are plans to build a bridge to connect the town with the airport on Gravina Island (pop 50) for only $223m. Sounds like a bargain compared to what is being spent on our war machine.

It's hard to believe, from the photo, that just around the bend, 4 huge cruise ships completely block the view from this little town. Although there are only about 30 miles of road, having a vehicle makes it easy to leave the tourist areas for lovely areas like this.
Being an avid traveller, I know tourism is good for the economy and having lived in Maui, I know that tourists stay in certain small areas but in this downtown area, the ships do overwhelm the town.
