Photographer's Note
This is another Minoru Yamasaki Building on the campus of Wayne State University. In the mid 50's Yamasaki was chosen to come up with a "space-use concept" for the Wayne State Campus. He came up with a compact plan of 4 and 5 story buildings connected by courts.
This is the School of Education Building which is across from the McGregor Conference Center of an earlier photo. Yamasaki was chosen to design this and the McGregor to get his "space-use concept" started.
I see a resemblance to the Doge's Palace in this building, just as World Trade Center buildings hearkened to Piazza San Marco. The building is constructed of pre-cast concrete "trees" 40 feet tall and 5 feet wide. In all there are 120 sections running around this building.
In post processing I corrected for perspective, desaturated, resized and sharpened in Photoshop Elements.

A good shot of a very interesting looking modern building. You have found a good POV to show the arches and shaped windows and the trees at each side make a nice frame.

Nice take on this structuralist building, Paul. Very clean shot. Interesting contrast between the free forms of the trees and the discplined forms of the building. And off course a good and informative note too.

A great architectural shot. The building is beautiful in its right, but the resemblance to the Doge's Palace in Venice, gives it an added dimension. Good choice of B/W, Paul, and very well seen.

A great subject for a B&W pic, very graphic, showed under a good angle. Nice light, the tones here are really beautiful.
