Photographer's Note

This pier attracts fishermen and photographers. It juts into San Francisco Bay just to the north and east of the Golden Gate Bridge and offers incredible views, as well as fish and crab for those with patience. At the right edge you see a couple of fishermen. Out of the frame to the right are two men with their crab pots ready to drop over the railing and into the Bay.

I know that the Golden Gate Bridge is much photographed by TE members. I've certainly made my contributions in the past. But I won't apologize for adding another image. To my mind the setting, the variable weather, the many interesting perspectives make it impossible to ignore this lovely structure. In this presentation I convert the color image into a duotone. I was inspired quite a while back by Gal Eota's efforts with this treatment and began experimenting in Photoshop. I can't say I've caught the density of the browns he creates, but I'm not displeased with the result. It reminds me of the old photographs I've seen from the days seventy years ago when this bridge was under construction. I hope you enjoy the view.

Thanks Gal...
