Photographer's Note

This is Stewart Cascades below the Cascade Cirque of Mt. Timpanogos. My wife and I made the hike with some friends and her mother, but we started late and got there well after the sun was behind the mountain. Consequently the lighting was less than fabulous, but the scenery was beautiful. We saw a moose again (last time we were nearly run over by a large bull), so that made the hike even better.

I thought after my botched attempt at using flowers in the foreground, I would try again. I had to stand a ways in the river on a couple of stones to get this. I was also pretty lucky that there were no people near the lower portion of the falls. Shortly before this picture was taken, there were quite a few people, and shortly after there were even more that showed up, but I caught this shot in a nice little window of no people.

The shot has been sharpened and the blue cast reduced some, but otherwise the most substantial editing was to crop it. Tell me what you think.
