Photographer's Note

Queensland has endured some massive flooding over the last couple of weeks. The statistics are quite startling, imagine an area the size of France and Germany combined..underwater all of a sudden.
QLD is a huge state, and the floods have now moved all the way south to Brisbane, the state capital, with 2 million people.
The city centre and surrounding areas have been evacuated as the river broke it's banks. Supermarkets have empty shelves, we may not be able to return to work for a a few days.
This shot I took as I followed some of the floods in the inner northern suburb of Windsor. These residents discussed the situation as the waters covered the road. The waters are expected to rise.
Luckily, no lives have been lost in Brisbane yet, but the same cannot be said for Toowoomba, a city of 120,000 people 90km west of Brisbane. Toowoomba's city centre was hit by a sudden 2 meter wave of water, like an inland Tsunami. There were cars and bridges moving down the streets there. Thus far 9 people have lost their lives there and there are 66 still missing.
Here in Brisbane, we just wait, stay dry and on high ground and await for the waters to subside.
