Photographer's Note
Rockhampton is usually a bustling city but on Sunday morning in the old part of town it was dead quiet - just gracious old buildings lining Quay Street oppsoite the river. The city suffered major flooding in January and was cut off for some time.
Scanned froma slide.

Hi Ian.
Really nice photo. Without the title I would have imagined it to be some sleepy old South American town (although the cars are on the wrong sides of the road). Terrific capture of the light and shade and an excellent scan. I really like the drooping palm leaves on the right and the long shadows. Perhaps I would remove the distortion to straighten up the building on the left, that's all.
Regards,
Andrew
