Photographer's Note
This pair of spoonbills were spotted in Kororoit Creek. Spoonbills are pretty widespread in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands, although I haven't often seen them. I guess I don't hang around inter-tidal flats and shallow wetlands enough.
Taken in the company of Andrew(macondo), Santo (Skippy007), Klaudio (daddo) and his brother in-law.
(Malgo, I passed on your regards)

Hi Steve,
A wonderfully sharp photo of these elegant birds. The big feathers on the back of the head give them a regal look. Is it breeding plumage? They don't look very happy at being photographed.

Hi Steve, neighbour again.
Yes - not a common sight. Well captures with your long zoom lens getting decent sharpness.
Next time you you see that mob say hi from me as well as I have been out on photo shoots with most of them years ago.
cheers

Hello Stephen,
This is an excellent photograph of the spoonbills.
They look to be posing just for you!
Your shallow dof makes them sharp against the oof, b/g, and they even make a slightly golden reflection in the water.
To get shots like this, maybe you will decide to visit the inter-tidal flats more often.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Good to learn that Andrew, Klaudio and Santo are still around. We don't hear of them very often nowadays.

Hello Steve,
Thank you that you passed my regards to our Melbourne friends. How I would like to meet them! They were so hospitable when I visited Australia. I have seen many various birds but I am not sure if spoonbills were among them. Superb picture.
Best regards Malgo
