Photographer's Note

There were rumours of racism riots at Scarborough beach today in response to the Sydney riots, however the only nationalities at war today was the U.S. and Australia.

I had great pleasure photographing the beach volleyball finals today, for some reason only 10% of my shots involved action from the mens game.

Hi Brendan.
Un excellent crop sur ces charmantes joueuses de volley.
Chouette les positions de ces 2 femmes, prêtes à recevoir le ballon.
La lumière qui vient faire briller leur peau, la puv vodafone sur son haut et puis sur les pubs en arrière, le rouge,....très sympa.
Ca fait plaisir aux yeux ;)

very nice and sharp (haha!) picture! You can feel tension and attention in those really nice ladies. The ball absolutely isn't necessary for this shot ...

I can guess you had some pleasure :) ,life's a beach volley ... Imagine that picture under the Eiffel tower in summer, that would have happened if Paris has won the 2012 olympics...

well, good for us in freezy Paris to see sand and sun ( only lacks the sea and what's the other S. again?) I like december months in the Southern hemisphere, as a southern raised kid christmas time is more associated with the sun and sea fun than snow... I miss it now.

very good crop, the color match also helps this image stand out to the eye.

Hi Brendan,
Good on you - this is a terrific capture, and I mean compositionally and color-wise. You do fantastic work with sports (I remember that swimming pool shot of yours). I mean, it is very creative sports photography of the highest order. Real PRO stuff. I would think you'd find an audience for this.

Good perspective, great sharpness, colours and of course a nice subject! Yet another reason to be appreciative of the female form! ;)

A very clever bit of cropping here to show really what is the major attraction of womens beach volleyball. (Sorry for being a bit sexist). Technically spot on withy bright colours and it is nice and sharp

Good motion shot, eventhough we cant see their faces we can see their expressions, if you know what I mean. Tones are nice, the tanned skin, sand and the orange (or should i say vodofoon)backdrop.

Very nice shot Brendan - a really creative viewpoint - I guess I can see why you might have given more interest to the women's game - even I'm not old enough to give 100% attention to the men's game!! :-))

I really like the see through orange and the capture of people and activity beyond - very nice.
