Photographer's Note
The pygmy marmoset is one of the world's smallest monkey breeds. Grown ones weigh only 4 oz. to 5 oz. (110 g to 140 g) and grow to be a mere 6 in. (15 cm) long. They live in the Amazon rain forest, where they do charming things like leap between trees and eat insects and tree sap. Pygmy marmosets have sharp teeth and claws, but they are relatively docile and a favorite in the exotic-pet trade.
The pygmy marmoset (Cebuella pygmaea) is a quadrupedal New World monkey native to the rainforest understories of western Brazil, southeastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru, and northern Bolivia, with an altitudinal range of 200 to 940 m. It is most common in river edge forests, but also can be found in secondary forest and moderately disturbed forest. The pygmy marmoset has been viewed as somewhat different from typical marmosets, most of which are classified in the genera Callithrix and Mico, and thus is accorded its own genus, Cebuella within the family Callitrichidae. Pygmy marmosets live for 11–12 years in the wild, but in zoos, they live into their early twenties.

Hi Ralf,
I normally see creatures like this, and think, what a cure little guy, but this one looks a little unhappy. He seems to have his claw raised as if to lash out, and qutie a grumpy face. beautiful capture of this moment, and a nice light striped across him.
All the best
Noel
