Photographer's Note
This boat gives an idea of the scale of the cliffs of Milford Sound, which rise up almost vertically from the sea. Fortunately, you can usually find a tour boat somewhere on the sound for scale. Milford Sound was not very busy on this Christmas day, at least not as busy as usual.
I used Photoshop to increase the contrast in the photo and improve the colour balance.

Hello Vincent,
Having returned from a tour of New Zealand, I was searching for scenes I knew. And indeed, you have a treasure trove of images from the South Island. The multiple mast boat on the horizon might have been the one we sailed on. This is a gorgeous shot, with the ship dwarfed by the cliffs. It's extraordinary to me that no one has given this photo the recognition it deserves.
Warm regards,
Bulent
