And here, now, is Milford Sound (Malgo probably reckons about time!).
We went down twice, the first time for the cruise along the sound when it poured rain but that meant great waterfalls (you'll see them tomorrow). They have 2 sayings at Milford - If it isn’t raining at Milford Sound it soon will be and that a drought at Milford is when it hasn’t rained for ½ hour.
The main photo and WS 1 were taken on the second visit when the weather was "better". The main one is of the famous Mitre Peak whilst WS 1 shows a wider view.
WS 2 was taken as we set off on our cruise on the first visit.

Hi Ian,
The wideness of the sea is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the Mitre Peakand of the clouds. The cloudy sky is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
I'm familiar with rain but maybe not as much as you suggest! The inclement weather allowed you to show the scenes as most people would see them!
I am in awe!
The scenery is spectacular!
The flatness of the f/g emphasises the height of the mountain; it seems to be rising, like a huge whale, out of the water!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian,
I can't imagine this area has never been used for a sci-fi adventure movie. Especially in B&W as in WS #1 it looks overwhelming. Maybe it would be uncomfortably wet for a film crew used to creating its own rain.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Ian,
A fantastic and really impressive view of the steep mountain here and the water and bits of green in the foreground, which make the mountain look even more prominent. Also the low-hanging clouds create a beautiful mood here.

Hi Ian
A spectacular part of New Zealand which has striking similarities to Norway. Good sharpness and diffused lighting. It was hailing when I arrived at Milford Sound. Tfs!

Hello Ian.
Spectacular and magical composition, with that alignment of the three peaks, the clouds surround the highest peak, the lowest one looks ideal with that vegetation.
Well done. I like it a lot
You have a good day.
Very best regards
Luis.

Hi Ian,
What a spectacular place! I like most the wider scene in the workshop. And even if I am not a big fan of black and white, it has worked there perfectly. Beautiful spot which I dream about visiting someday, Excellent reportage,

Hello Ian,
Now, this is a photo that makes me feel the greatness of nature. However there is no human included, he/she would look quite small.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hi Ian, Finally Milford Sound. Of course, it rained when I was, too. But the trip by boat is fantastic anyway. This view of Mitre Peak is iconic. The most impressive are the waterfalls there, especially the one in which people take shower (see https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Oceania/New_Zealand/South_Island/Fiordland/Milford_Sound/photo1559161.htm . )
Milford Sound is a highlight of the NZ trip. But why they are called sounds here?
Best regards Malgo

Hi Ian
The lighting is not on your side for landscape shot, however to look on the bright side, the majestic peak steals the eye to compensate the dull weather.
Best regards

Hello Ian,
I've heard of Milford Sound before and I kept wondering what sound is being heard there.
Fantastic landscapes with towering mountains from the sea.
The small islands and peninsulas in the foreground of your main photo add more depth to the picture.
Best regards, Paul

the place looks dramatic and you got nice samples and the options in B&W added a special mood. curious the name, Mitre is the name of a former president of argentina.
take care
