Shotover, a photo from Otago, South Island

One of the popular extreme activities around New Zealand's adventure capital, Queenstown, is jet boating on the Shotover River.
When we stopped at a bridge over the river we were lucky enough to see a jet boat powering along the river below. For the main photo I've gone with a more distant view as it shows more of the narrow river gorge.
In the WS is a zoomed in version of a photo I posted back in 2011.
We did not join in this activity.

Interesanmtan i opasan trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepa reka i kanjon, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa crvenim camcem.
Lepa reka i mesto za ekstremne sportove.
Ljudi sve vise vole opasne sportove.
Dobar rad sa lepom fotografijom u radionici.

Nice POV and canyon, good colors contrast with grey cliffs and green vegetation and of course with this photogenic tiny detail and this red boat, good complementary photo with the Ws, tfs.

Hi Ian,

I actually went in one of those speedboats twisting and turning through the canyon and it was a lot of fun. The blood red colour adds a strong focal point against the turquoise rock flour colour of the water. Tfs!

The red boat is a superb eye-catcher that certainly brightens the photo. But the scenery is beautiful enough for a photo in its own right.

Beautiful natural scenery and it does seem like a fun activity, although you cannot probably take the camera on this adventure because it will likely get wet.
You have presented it from a nice angle and the zoomed in version allows us to appreciate the adventure itself.

Quite wild action! This angle shows very well how narrow the river is between those cliffs. You captured the boat just in the right place.

I have heard of the special sports that can be practiced in Queenstown, such as bunjee jumping.

amazing gorge, the red boat in movement added a special sense of life too. nice details of nature. I remember the name of this river when I was reading a text in english to enhance my vocabulary, 20 years ago.
