Photographer's Note

This was taken during a road trip around New Zealand with a Malaysian friend. We lived cheap and slept most nights in our rental car. Sometimes, that brings beautiful moments. Like here by the shores of Lake Pukaki. The day before was cloudy and didn't give us the best views. We parked the car by the lake and hoped for a better view the following day. During the night the stars came out to give me one of the most beautiful night skies I've ever seen. It was clear and cold. I was freezing, but the views were worth it. The morning finally revealed the snowy summit of Aoraki (Mt. Cook), the highest mountain in New Zealand.
