Clifden Suspension Bridge, a photo from Southland, South Island

After our time in New Zealand's Fiordland we drove south to visit the Catlins area on the much less visited southeast corner of South Island. On the way we passed through the small town of Clifden which has a great old heritage listed suspension bridge.
The bridge was built in 1899 across the Waiau River. It was closed to vehicular traffic in 1978 and is now pedestrians only.
In the WS is a rural photo featuring an abandoned farm house.

Hi Ian

It was probably a wise move to restrict modern vehicular traffic, which would be many times heavier than what was around in 1899. Good sharpness, framing and colour. Tfs!

It's a nice bridge, so it's good to see it saved and protected. But the WS is just as interesting and shows us a more attractive scenery. It could also have been a main upload.

This sounds nearly as the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol!
Lovely point of view to well present the bridge. The sky has a nice pattern. I like the overall color theme. Very warm feeling.
