Photographer's Note
The Salar de Uyuni is the biggest salt lake in the world, and obligatory for almost all tourists in Bolivia. An extraordinary place. I liked the way the patterns in the salt seemed to go on forever.

I love the angle of this shot - it really gives a sense of how big the lake is, and this seems even more accentuated by the patterns.

very nice POV in this picture. As you said, very intresting pattern and texture from the salt on the surface. I thought it was ice looking at the thumbnail. Good work.

Very nice shot. All in blue and white, with form like mosaic. But I think that the sky and mountains shall have more place, it is for me a bit small.
Good job David

Lovely perspective. The contrast in the colour of the sky and mountains in the background is great.

Beautiful texture and colors, very well chosen low angle for the shot. It's definitely a landscape that I'd like to see! The black dots on the sky are birds or defects?

I like the idea to shoot salt desert from the this point. The whole scenery looks futuristic, quite unreal. However, I think the foreground being out of focus is not the best idea. I don't know the camera, lense and the exposition being used, but I guess slow shutter with closed aperture would do the job better.
The image is visibly darker on its edges, especially right top side, which I guess may be attributed to the lense imperfection.
Anyway, despite technical matters I mentioned, the picture is quite impressiv e. Good thinking!

I commend you on getting a perfect exposure on what looks like Fuji Velvia in a situation where a camera's meter is very easily fooled. You can see every bit of the texture in the salt desert, just as it should be.

Hi Davie,
An amazing picture of the salar. I like the forms on the salar because when I was, the salar don't have this forms. Contrast between sky and salar is also highest! You have some beautiful pictures of the salar.
Bye
